Farming globally is undergoing a digital transformation, where data plays an increasingly important role for the quantity and quality of farming products. Already many smart farming solutions are offered, but almost none addresses the issue of data sovereignty for the producers themselves. DISEMIN leverages on the already existing agro-tech community of the Sarantaporo.gr Community Broadband Network (CBN) and the IoT expertise of Ex Machina (http://exm.gr) to introduce a Distributed Smart Farming Log. It is a digital log of sensor data and human input, controlled by the farmer who decides whom they will share their data with: a) just the farmer, b) with their agronomist only, c) with their community peers or d) with some larger farming stakeholder, interested in the area. The broader the sharing scheme, the more opportunities arise for the community members and also more risks to manage. It is their decision which road they will follow.
