Next Generation Internet – Info Session on Pilots and Internet Commons policy
January 26, 2023 @ 14:00 - 16:00
Info Session on Open Source funding under the Next Generation Internet initiative
The European Commission is organising an online webinar on the Horizon Europe call for Next Generation Internet topics on 26 January 2023, 14:00-16:00 CET.
The Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative, launched by the European Commission in 2018, aims to shape the future internet as an interoperable platform ecosystem that embodies the values that Europe holds dear: openness, inclusivity, transparency, privacy, cooperation, and protection of data.
Since its operation the programme funded around 800 open source projects covering all aspects of the internet stack.
Under the Horizon Europe 2022-2023 Work Programme the NGI initiative calls for proposals distributed in 4 topics:
- Next Generation Internet Fund (HUMAN-01-11) (Research and Innovation Action)
- Pilots for the Next Generation Internet (HUMAN-01-12) (Innovation Actions)
- Next Generation Internet International Collaboration – USA (HUMAN-01-13) (Research and Innovation Action)
- Next Generation Internet Commons Policy (HUMAN-01-14) (Coordination and support action)
The call for proposals is open since 8 December 2022 and will close on the 29 March 2023 at 5:00 pm.
These topics have been already presented during the Horizon Europe Cluster 4 Info Day on 14 December 2022. We encourage you to watch the recording (20 minutes) prior to get the best from the Info Session.
The present Info Session will focus on the call for the two topics for proposals on NGI pilots and the Policy Support Action.
This event relates to the NGI Work Programme 2023 and particularly targets parties interested in using/implementing open source solutions developed/supported by NGI funding in a particular domain (for the pilots) and parties knowledgeable in open source policy (for the policy support action)
