NGI’s new Data Portability and Services Incubator (DAPSI) has launched its first open call to access a €5.6 million fund to empower Internet innovators to develop new solutions in Data Portability.
The EU is a global leader on legislation on Data Protection (GDPR) for better transparency on citizens’ data, as well as improved data compatibility and interoperability to facilitate switches between service providers. DAPSI will fund projects that help facilitate these standards.
DAPSI will support projects through a nine-month programme with up to €150k equity-free funding. In addition, experts will guide successful working methodologies, access to top infrastructures, training in business and data-related topics, coaching, mentoring and a vibrant ecosystem.
In a two-phased programme, selected projects will develop advanced solutions in the Data Portability field, attend online and on-site training sessions, pitch and access test infrastructures, with coaching support to work on use cases.
The best projects will progress to the second phase where the use cases will be fostered to evolve into solid projects to gain enough traction for deployment and get ready for the market.

The call for proposals is open until 22 April, 2020, 12.00 CET.
