This project provides a transparent and trustworthy source of information to the general public and its source is not biased due to the fact that it comes from an open source tool. In addition, our proposed tool can easily run on iExec platform nodes consuming only a few hours per week and highlight the value of the iExec platform. Moreover, this enhances the robustness and reliability of the underlying Ethereum network. The network crawler proposed in this paper could eventually become a real-time information provider for the blockchain industry, in a similar way that Infura is today the Ethereum blockchain status provider for a large number of applications and enterprises. This will be extremely important when Eth2 becomes fully sharded, as developers will need to decide in which shard locate their dApps and what are the network latency and bandwidth conditions in each shard.

Enduser Relevance

The technique proposed in this project aims to build a powerful method that provides meaningful data about the Ethereum p2p network and its clients. It builds on top of the state-of-the-art networking tools.
