Existing portability tools are hard-coded, lack transparency and interoperability. PROV4ITDaTa is built upon open standards, leveraging Semantic Web technologies, yielding a highly configurable and interoperable portability tool for personal data.

PROV4ITDaTa allows users to regain fine-grained control over their personal data by transforming it to RDF and storing it on their personal data stores, called Solid Pods.
