SUMMARY:NGI Germany @ Bitkom Roundtable 2018
DESCRIPTION:After a series of conferences and round tables about „Future Internet“\, next generation networks\, broadband and 5G in the last five years the Bitkom Akademie and deutsche ict + medienakademie want to analyse and discuss the development of next generation internet (NGI) in an executive roundtable on 24th January 2018. Together with experts from relevant suppliers such as CISCO\, Ericsson\, Huawei and Nokia as well as users of bandwidth like German television ZDF and Swiss OTT-Company Zattoo we will especially discuss future perspectives and opportunities for a better\, democratic and value-oriented human-centric internet\, particularly by highlighting the importance of the collaboration of society and technology. \nDuring the last ten years many revolutions regarding network structures have been announced. More and more solutions are realised through software instead of hardware and network functions are made automatic. Examples are cloud solutions\, firewalls\, routing\, load balancing\, software-defined networks and network functions virtualisation. \nIn contrast to earlier projects regarding future internet (e.g. clean slate) there will still be the need of tremendous modifications of the existing network structures. Also different perspectives and solutions like edge computing\, the IoT\, the 5G eco system need to be included. In addition\, values like openness\, cooperation across borders\, decentralisation\, inclusiveness\, transparency and protection of privacy need to be taken into account. In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS and the Broadband Association BREKO the executive roundtable will be followed by a NGI workshop the next day 25th January 2018 at Fraunhofer FOKUS. \nMore info here: http://www.medienakademie-koeln.de/termine/einzelansicht/next-generation-internet-welche-perspektiven-hat-das-netz.html \n  \nAgenda\n\n\n\n\nModeration: Ekkehart Gerlach\, Geschäftsführer\, deutsche medienakademie\, Köln\n\n\n12.30 Uhr\nBegrüßung\n\n\n12.45 Uhr\nEinführung\nMarkus Laqua\, Partner\, BearingPoint GmbH\, Düsseldorf\n\n\n13.00 Uhr\nTechnologische Ansätze – Impuls-Statements und Diskussion \n\nNetzwerk-Architekturen\, SDN und NFV – neue Steuerung\, neue Optimierung?\nProf. Andreas Bereczky\, Produktionsdirektor\, ZDF – Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen\nAlles OTT?\nStefan Lietsch\, CTO/CPO\, Zattoo Europa AG\, Zürich\nNGI – Neue Geschäftsmodelle\nDr. Norbert Niebert\, Manager Technology & Innovation Ericsson GmbH\, Herzogenrath\n\n\n\n\n16.45 Uhr\nCoffee & Cake\n\n\n17.00 Uhr\nPerspektiven \n\nZukünftige Netze anderswo: Südkorea\, Japan und den USA\nDr. Michael Lemke\, Senior Technology Expert\, HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES Deutschland GmbH\, Düsseldorf\nNGI – Next Generation Internet – a key priority for the future?\nNicole Muessigmann\, Programme Officer\, European Commission\, DG Connect\, Next Generation Internet – Unit E3: Next Generation Internet\, Brüssel\nNext-Generation Internet in Deutschland\nProf. Dr. Thomas Magedanz\, Leiter Competence Center – Next Generation Network Infrastructures\, Fraunhofer-Institut für Offene Kommunikationssysteme FOKUS\, Berlin\n\n\n\n\n18.30\nImbiss & Networking\n\n\n\n\nNGI Germany is the national part of the EU movement.
