SUMMARY:Save the date for the Interoperable Europe Academy 2024!
DESCRIPTION:On the 11th and 12th of April\, the Belgian University KU Leuven will be the stage of Interoperable Europe Academy 2024: the two-day live Academy for advanced digital skills in the field of digital government and interoperability. This year\, public servants from all levels of the government\, policy makers and students will have the chance to get all the ins and outs of the Interoperable Europe Act and to explore the next steps.   \n\n\n\nThe Interoperable Europe Academy 2024 will give the audience members an immersive (free of charge) teaching experience that will provide them an advanced understanding of the Interoperable Europe Act\, its implications for public administrations in the EU\, and practical ways and tools to unfold its full potential. From governance\, interoperability assessments and regulatory sandboxes\, to exploring how emerging technologies like AI play into the story\, the audience will find new approaches to implementing the Interoperable Europe Act and finding how other initiatives in the field of digital government are perfectly aligned to the Interoperable Europe Act.  \n\n\n\nIn turn\, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with the European Commission about public sector needs to implement the interoperability policy\, and to ensure that the new upcoming learning materials aimed at capacity-building will be tailor-made to the challenges at hand.   \n\n\n\nA wide variety of workshops and panel discussions (that can be followed face to face or online) will involve highly professional experts from Interoperable Europe and the KU Leuven. These courses will help to disseminate knowledge and to spark interest in new fields in order to establish bridges for future cooperations both vertically and horizontally among public administrations in the EU.

SUMMARY:Workshop on Open Source key areas for Digital Autonomy
DESCRIPTION:Three Directorate-Generals from the European Commission (Connect\, DIGIT and GROW) are joining forces to organize a physical event in Brussels to discuss Open Source in four key areas for Digital Autonomy. \n\n\n\nThe study on the impact of Open Source in the EU economy  confirmed the relevance of this subject. The twelve workshops organized in December 2022 by the European Commission have served to pave the way to relevant political initiatives. This time\, the Commission is focusing on the areas that are prone to be the most relevant for Open Source. \n\n\n\nThe first area is Cybersecurity and trustworthiness of ICT systems\, which is of crucial importance in today’s Digital Europe. The second session will elaborate the transformation of the automotive design towards a connected\, carbon-neutral and customer-centric transport with the Software-defined vehicle(SDV). The third panel will analyze how to be successful and manage the challenges in implementing open source projects and solutions in European public services. The final session will develop how to provide and use as much as possible Open Source for developing Data Spaces. \n\n\n\nWorkshops will benefit from the viewpoints of panelists recognized as experts in the workshop topic.
