SUMMARY:Webinar: How to start using blockchain for innovation and real-world projects
DESCRIPTION:How to start using blockchain for innovation and real-world projects\nWhen: 15 February 2022 at 13:00 CET\nWhere: Online \nThis webinar is powered by TETRA and NGI TRUBLO. \nThere is an ongoing and intensifying hype over crypto coins\, the potential of Web 3.0 approaches and more recently about sales of NFTs. Last year record sums of VC investments went to companies in this field. But\, how can “normal” companies use blockchain? How can a start-up extend towards decentralisation concepts? \nFor answers\, we invited expert Andrius Bartminas\, CEO of Super How?. His mission is to help other companies to get started. \nTHE COLLABORATION WITH TRUBLO\nFurther\, we hear from blockchain projects which received funding from NGI TruBlo\, a project entirely dedicated to early-stage ideas for blockchain applications. The focus of TruBlo is to use blockchain technology for trustable content – to ensure that the information we read\, see\, hear is correct and not falsified. You will hear from innovative teams who already work on blockchain projects and their experience. https://www.trublo.eu/projects/ \nTruBlo is currently running an open call for new ideas. Selected participants can get up to €175\,000\, equity-free\, to work on blockchain concepts. https://www.trublo.eu/apply/ \nAgenda\n\nIntro by NGI TETRA and TruBlo\nHow to start using blockchain?\nPresentations by NGI TruBlo funded projects: Vehicle Chain\, OttCT\, SHARP.\n\nREGISTER HERE!

SUMMARY:Webinar: Visual Thinking Strategy
DESCRIPTION:Visual Thinking Strategy\nWhen: 25 January 2022 at 16:00 CET\nWhere: Online \nWebinar powered by TETRA and NGI Atlantic.eu \nThe webinar focuses on identifying the product/service Unique Selling Proposition (USP) and work on a concept extracted from it using modalities that are usually not explored (Visual Thinking Strategy). This is the best way to stretch the brain and give birth to new ideas\, free of preconceived notions\, that will be useful in business or elsewhere in life. Thinking visually and spatially helps tackle complex problems by seeing how interdependent pieces fit together. \n \nStrategies for visual learning\nIf you teach as part of a formal institution or in a business training capacity\, you can use the Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) methodology to encourage flexible thinking with the help of a single\, interesting image and three simple questions: \n\nWhat’s going on in this picture?\nWhat do you see that makes you say that?\nWhat more can we find?\n\nMuch like a brainstorming session\, the goal of a VTS discussion is to enable shared discovery\, learning\, and insight rather than to disseminate knowledge. Encouraging the contribution of individual ideas in this way has been shown to deepen the learner’s observation\, collaboration\, and communication skills in an international setting. \nREGISTER HERE!

SUMMARY:TETRA Webinar: Community engagement for NGI projects
DESCRIPTION:When: 07 September 2021\nWhere: Online \nCommunity-led growth is a perfect model for open-source projects where development is already driven by the community. This webinar will focus on community engagement\, user acquisition and retention for NGI projects. \nWe will offer two perspectives – insights from a community engagement expert and an experience sharing session with a free software activist. \nIn the first part\, you will hear about community-led growth as a powerful strategy for open source companies. Our message is that unlike paid advertising or direct sales\, building a community of engaged supporters will grow with you organically. There are several ways community members can help you build and promote your business – in this session\, you can find out if any of them is right for your company. \nThe starting point of the experience sharing session is that the upbeat discourse of innovation would like you to think that the revolution will come from a quacking duck sitting in an armchair. Obviously\, as global tensions arise\, complexity begs to differ. The last session will highlight the difference between community and the collective\, where vanishing lines are making a stand. \nTen companies that take part in the webinar will be able to receive one hour of one-on-one mentoring from Johanna-Mai Riismaa. More information on how to apply will be shared in the webinar\nAPPLY HERE\, NO PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED!\nSpeaker\nJohanna-Mai Riismaa is a community engagement consultant for nonprofits\, causes and community-driven businesses. She has a decade of experience as a Volunteer Coordinator for large teams at international and Estonian organizations. She is also founder and CEO of Zelos\, a goal-oriented community engagement app. Hellekin is a free software activist with almost three decades organizing grassroots events and virtual communities. He co-founded Petites Singularités in 2017 to apply 50+ years of knowledge researching collective practices and free technology production. He currently mentors developers within the NGI0 consortium and NGI POINTER DREAM program.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Intellectual Property in the World of Blockchain
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is powered by NGI TETRA and ONTOCHAIN\nWhen: 02 June 2021 from 10:00 to 11:40 CEST \nWhere: Online \nApply Here!\nWhat will you get?\nManaging intellectual property (IP) itself is not an easy task\, and when it comes to tackling IP issues in blockchain technologies\, it may become even more challenging. NGI TETRA\, in cooperation with ONTOCHAIN\, is organising a webinar programme to cover the basics of IP in the world of blockchain and to guide you on how to make use of IP when dealing with blockchain-related projects. \nFirst session: Managing IP in Blockchain Applications\nWhen dealing with IP and blockchain\, the issues are twofold: securing IP rights in Blockchain technology and managing IP rights through Blockchain technology. On one hand\, there is the obvious fact that blockchain software and data deployment must deal with existing IP rights and those generated as a consequence of that deployment\, such as software copyright and licensing\, databases rights\, trade secrets etc. On the other hand\, a blockchain seems to be a perfect tool to serve as a legal ledger for the recording of IP rights and several projects are attempting to redesign IP management processes. \nSecond session: IP Landscape in Blockchain\nThe presentation will provide an overview of the state of the art in different areas of Blockchain\, including Self Sovereign Identity\, Copyright Management\, Data Provenance\, Reputation Models\, Value Sharing and Incentives and others and will exemplify it through patent landscapes collected by the tool MyIntelliPatent. This supporting tool is provided by IntelliSemantic to the third parties participating in the NGI ONTOCHAIN project to contribute to their state of the art and to check the eventual need to apply for a new patent if this is suitably motivated by their innovation. \nAgenda\n10:00 – 10:10: Opening\n10:10 – 10:50: Managing IP in Blockchain Applications by Erwin Sotiri (NGI TETRA)\n10:50 – 11:00: Q&A\n11:00 – 11:30: IP Landscape in Blockchain by Alberto Ciaramella (ONTOCHAIN)\n11:30 – 11:40: Q&A and Closing \nSpeakers\nErwin SOTIRI\nAttorney at law\, IP & ICT Legal Expert \nInitially as a practitioner at several major law firms in France then in Luxembourg\, Erwin is the founding partner of JURISCONSUL\, a leading boutique law firm\, specializing on intellectual property\, software\, technology and increasingly focusing on fintech. Erwin is the author of “Précis sur les crypto-monnaies” edited by Legitech. He also authors articles on blockchains\, artificial intelligence and copyright. He regularly speaks in events involving technologies and digital content. \n  \n  \nAlberto CIARAMELLA\nResearch manager\n \nAlberto Ciaramella as the CEO of IntelliSemantic is active in the research of text and data analytics\, semantics\, linked data and big data technologies\, artificial intelligence. These technologies are used in different verticals\, as Patents\, Scientific\, Technical and Medical publications for business intelligence\, an example of which is the solution MyIntelliPatent\, for patent landscaping and monitoring. Alberto Ciaramella is presently active in NGI Ontochain project and in the past participated to successful EU-funded projects.
