Currently\, the media ecosystem has grown in the international context\, characterized by global players\, business activities and market scope on one side and convergence of technical standards one another side\, where Europe needs to work towards a more robust media ecosystem\, being able to compete with other world regions while ensuring the independence of its own media and creative sector. Therefore\, the underlying media distribution network architectures and platforms need to be in European control\, and we need to take the regulatory measures\, but also the necessary investments to implement it and make it happen. \nThe New European Media Initiative understands itself as an agent towards this challenge\, assembling views of media and creative sectors in Europe with respect to the needed future research and innovation activities. \nThis event is free and open to all the interested stakeholders and you can FREE REGISTER HERE! \nAbout the speaker\nPierre-Yves Danet @pydanet‍ joined France Telecom (Orange) in 1992 taking the responsibility of a research group on ISDN. Since then\, he is has been leading many projects in Home Automation domain and nowadays he is head of collaborative research – Europe at Orange Labs\, he is also representing Orange at Alliance for the Internet of Things Innovation (AIOTI) and at NEM technology platform\, chairing the ETNO Research & Innovation Group and vice-chairing the FIWARE Mundus committee. At AIOTI\, he is a member of WG2\, and is one of the main contact points for DIHs in the IoT domain. \n\nJoin the NGI community to stay up to date with the latest topics around the Next Generation Internet.
