SUMMARY:AI Super Hackathon at International Create Challenge 2020
DESCRIPTION:Idiap Research Institute is organizing an AI Super Hackathon on August 22-30\, 2020\, in the framework of the 9th edition of the International Create Challenge: www.createchallenge.org. During 9 days of intense development\, participants will have the opportunity to turn ideas into a prototype or demonstrator. \nThe principle is quite simple: each selected team comes with an idea of a prototype/demonstrator to work on during the 9 days of the event. The only requirements for proposed projects are: \n\nThey should be in the field of AI.\nThey should be about a prototype/demonstrator not yet developed.\n\nMore information about the ICC’2020\, including the selection process\, can be found here: www.createchallenge.org. Given the current COVID-19 situation\, the organizers of the ICC’2020 guarantee that the hackathon will take place either on-site at Idiap (Martigny\, Switzerland) or online via the DevPost portal. \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to the organizing team at Idiap: contact@createchallenge.org. \n

DESCRIPTION:IEEE ICC 2020 TO GO VIRTUAL\nAs you may be aware\, the World Health Organization officially declared the novel coronavirus COVID-19 a pandemic. This global health crisis is a unique challenge that has impacted many members of the IEEE family. We would like to express our concern and support for all the members of the IEEE community\, our professional team\, our families and all others affected by this outbreak. \nGovernments around the world are now issuing restrictions on travel\, gatherings\, and meetings in an effort to limit and slow the spread of the virus. The health and safety of the IEEE community is our first priority and IEEE is supporting these efforts. \nFollowing the advice and guidelines from healthcare officials and local authorities\, IEEE ICC 2020 will now be held virtually on 7-11 June 2020. \nThe IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) is one of the IEEE Communications Society’s two flagship conferences dedicated to driving innovation in nearly every aspect of communications. Each year\, around 3\,000 researchers submit proposals for paper presentations and program sessions to be held at the annual conference. After extensive peer review\, the best of the proposals are selected for the conference program\, which includes technical papers\, tutorials\, workshops and industry sessions designed specifically to advance technologies\, systems and infrastructure that are continuing to reshape the world and provide all users with access to an unprecedented spectrum of high-speed\, seamless and cost-effective global telecommunications services. \nAt the annual conference\, thousands of participants gather to present research results\, share visions and ideas\, obtain updates on latest technologies and expand professional and social networking. These activities are realized through IEEE ICC’s multiple diversified and exciting programs. \nThis 5-day event includes several keynote speeches by distinguished speakers from industry\, academia and government sectors; panels and forums; technical sessions featuring technical papers extensively reviewed by peers; workshops focusing on the latest trends in various technology; tutorials delivered by experts in respective disciplines; exhibits; an awards luncheon; and a relaxing and entertaining banquet.
