SUMMARY:eSSIF-Lab webinar
DESCRIPTION:eSSIF-Lab: creating & funding an interoperable SSI infrastructure in Europe\nAttend this webinar to learn about the eSSIF-Lab (EU H2020) project with Oskar van Deventer and Rieks Joosten from TNO in the Netherlands. \nWHY: the eSSIF-Lab vision\, objectives\, and intended benefits;\nWHAT: its (initial) functional architecture/components;\nHOW: ways in which you may contribute (and possibly get funded for that). \n \neSSIF-Lab is an EU H2020 project whose purpose is to fundamentally improve real-life transactions via the Internet\, by focusing on next-generation mental models for such next generation transactions\, and using SSI technologies and implementations to realize them. \nToday\, conducting an online business transaction consist of an individual that fills in an online form\, which is subsequently processed (data is validated\, and a commitment decision is made). Filling in and validating forms can be quite tedious\, frustrating\, time consuming and costly. Digitally inexperienced people are known to give up on requesting (social) benefits they are entitled to\, enlarging the digital divide. But even people with an academic background and years of IT experience find this difficult. \nIn the SSI-enabled world as eSSIF-Lab sees it\, an SSI IT infrastructure can help to find\, provide and validate the needed data electronically. This makes filling and processing forms much easier (people no longer have to understand forms\, upload pdfs\, etc.)\, much faster (people no longer have to go places to get paperwork) much cheaper (saving tens of billions of euro’s – or even more – on verification/validation costs and IT-links). \nThe current wealth of SSI-related products\, technologies and standards is insufficient for realizing this vision\, because it generally lacks interoperability and scalability\, and does not address the process- and business levels. \neSSIF-Lab calls for a scalable and interoperable technological infrastructure that is very easy to use by and integrate with (the IT\, the processes and the business/policies of) arbitrary organizations and individuals to request\, obtain\, store and issue data objects whose meaning (semantics)\, origin (provenance) and integrity can be proved (verified) – which is basically what SSI is all about. \nThe main task of the eSSIF-Lab consortium is to coordinate between and fund projects of SME’s/startups (from EU/EEA countries) that contribute to the realization of this vision\, in terms of technology and/or associated business propositions\, and that will work together so as to benefit from each other’s contributions. \nRegister on this link to join the webinar on the 31st of March 8 am MST / 10 am EST / 3 pm CET.

SUMMARY:POLITICO AI Summit 2020
DESCRIPTION:CAN EUROPE KEEP UP WITH ITS DIGITAL LEGACY AND BE A GLOBAL AI RULE-MAKER?\nAI has infiltrated every aspect of our lives\, from the way we work and communicate to how we treat diseases and wage wars. Globally\, businesses and governments are focusing on how to make the most out of this disruptive technology and mitigate the associated risks. \nIn this AI “race to the top”\, the U.S. and China stand as the world’s frontrunners\, because of their development of cutting-edge AI applications and their capacity to attract investments. Europe wants to lead the way on digital policies by setting the conditions for the development and use of AI. GDPR\, digital competition and online copyright are some of the major policy areas that the last Commission implemented to give the bloc a competitive advantage. But will the new European Commission be able to keep up with Europe’s unfinished digital legacy when the technology is evolving quickly and investments are being allocated to other parts of the world? \nTaking place on March 16-17\, 2020\, POLITICO’s AI Summit returns to Brussels to tackle key questions about the future of AI global regulation and the technology’s implementation\, such as: \n\nWhat is happening across the globe (U.S.\, Canada\, China\, Japan\, other regions)? And what are the key alliances that are emerging between countries and regions worldwide?\nShould AI development be limited? How can the biases in the use of AI be addressed? What are the biggest consequences and challenges of automation in industry\, taking into account the level of power given to machines?\nIs AI a cultural question? How does the interpretation of “trustworthy” defer from a country to another\, and how does it impact AI development across the globe?\nCan the EU push its case for creating international rules in a future world of artificial intelligence and robotization? Will the EU’s approach towards regulation and development of AI technologies\, adhering to the region’s ethical standards\, give the bloc a global competitive edge — or will the EU be left behind? What are the EU’s policy priorities to boost Europe’s AI industry\, while complying with European ethical standards?\nIn 2019\, China’s AI industry received the most funding\, surpassing the U.S. and its traditional advantage in venture capital investment\, while Europe still lags behind. What are the EU and member states doing to facilitate access to capital\, data and skills needed to support AI growth and develop strong AI solutions?\nHow challenging is the implementation of a cross-border and coordinated European approach towards AI? What is being done to overcome those challenges and will member states eventually take the lead?

SUMMARY:Blockchains for Social Good
DESCRIPTION:EIC Horizon Prize\n‘Blockchains for Social Good’ Finalists’ Day\nJointly organized between DG CNECT and DG RTD \nMONDAY 10 FEBRUARY 2020\n• Joint Research Centre (JRC) •\nRue du Champs de Mars 21\, 1050 Brussels \n  \nDuring the ‘Blockchains for Social Good’ Finalists’ Day\, 23 finalists selected out of the 178 applications received for the 5M€ EIC Horizon Prize on ‘Blockchains for Social Good’ will discuss their social innovation solutions with other innovators in front of an engaged audience. In a five-minute pitch\, all candidates get the chance to present the impact of their solutions on social good aspects and the underlying economic models\, and will demonstrate how their solutions would work for people\, concretely. \nIn each session\, ample time will be devoted to questions from the public (asked in person\, or though twitter and sli.do – use the event code #BC4GOOD) and from other finalists as well\, to explore and debate the advantages and limitations of the proposed solutions. \nThis interactive event will bring together blockchain innovators\, specialists and curious minds from all across Europe\, in order to learn how Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) might positively affect our society in various application areas related to sustainability and SDGs. \n[vc_single_image image=”29731″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://blockchainsforsocialgood.eventbrite.com”] \nPlease find more info about the Horizon Prizes here: https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/horizon2020/what-horizon-2020 \n[vc_tta_accordion active_section=”0″ collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”About the EIC Horizon Prize ‘Blockchains for Social Good’” tab_id=”BFSGP”][vc_column_text] \nAbout the EIC Horizion Prize ‘Blockchains for Social Good’\nThe EIC Horizon Prize ‘Blockchains for Social Good’ awards the next generation of Blockchain innovators in the broad area of social good\, where Blockchain technologies can be vital to enable solutions for the emerging environmental\, social and economic sustainability challenges. \nBy awarding 5 million euro to the innovators that come up with the most promising Blockchain solutions to different social good areas\, the initiative aims to motivate the development of decentralised social innovations beneficial for the European society. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Where do the finalists come from?” tab_id=”comefrom”][vc_column_text] \nWhere do the finalists come from?\nIn 2019\, applicants from 43 different countries submitted 178 proposals\, 33 of which from non-EU countries. Applicants are mostly small private companies or consortia\, and include individuals and public institutions. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How are the prize winners selected?” tab_id=”winnersselected”][vc_column_text] \nHow are the prize winners selected?\nA multidisciplinary jury of 30 high-level experts in Blockchain technologies and economic and social sciences has evaluated the 178 applications against the five criteria set in the rules of contest. This includes positive social impact\, decentralization and governance\, usability and inclusiveness\, viability at large scale\, and European added value. \nThe jury selected the finalists in November 2019\, and will identify the winners after additional hearings\, by the end of March 2020. \nThe jury also identified\, according to the Rules of Contest\, 4 additional areas\, related to SDGs\, which could not be foreseen at the inception of this Prize\, in 2015. It also noted that unfortunately none of the above threshold applications were addressing the original area “participation in democratic decision-making by enabling accountability\, rewarding of participation and/or anonymity”. \nThe resulting areas are as follows (in brackets\, the full description as indicated in the rules of Contest):[/vc_column_text]\ntraceability & fair trade (demonstrating the origin of raw materials or products and supporting fair trade and the fair monetization of labour); \ntransparency of public processes (allowing for a greater visibility of public spending and a greater transparency of administrative and production processes); \ndecentralised circular economy (enabling the development of decentralized social networks or clouds\, or of decentralized platforms for the collaborative economy);\nmanagement of public records (managing property\, land registry or other public records); \nfinancial inclusion (contributing to financial inclusion)\naid & philanthropy (new area);\nenergy (new area);\nhealth (new area);\nquality content (new area).\n\n[/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][vc_empty_space height=”20px”] \n[vc_column_text] \nAbstracts Finalists’ Day EIC Prize “Blockchains for Social Good”\n[/vc_column_text][vc_basic_grid post_type=”post” max_items=”-1″ gap=”15″ orderby=”title” order=”ASC” initial_loading_animation=”none” grid_id=”vc_gid:1581259337204-4b8bac6e-aea7-5″ taxonomies=”882″][vc_empty_space height=”20px”] \n[vc_column_text] \nAGENDA\n[/vc_column_text]\n\n\n\nEIC Horizon Prize\, Blockchains for Social Good Finalists’ day\n\n\n\nTime\nMonday 10 February 2020\n\n\n\n\n08:30-09:00\nRegistration and welcome coffee\n\n\n\nOPENING\n \n\n\n\n09:00-09.15\nWelcome by Olivier Bringer\, Head of Unit ‘Next Generation Internet’ of DG Connect at the European Commission\n\n\n09:15-09.30\nBlockchains for… Social Good? by Fabrizio Sestini\, Senior Expert\, DG Connect Next-Generation Internet\n\n\n\nTRACEABILITY & FAIR TRADE\nModerator: Rob van Kranenburg \n\n\n\n09.30-10:30\nPresentations by:\nCircularise (CirSource)\, COIN (see slides here)\, Minexx (see slides here)\, Provenance (PPP – see slides here)\nQ&A\n\n\n\nTRANSPARENCY OF PUBLIC PROCESSES\, and MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC RECORDS\nModerator: Rob van Kranenburg \n\n\n\n10:30-11:15\nPresentations by\nAlice (GIVE – see slides here)\, OriginalMy (OMHorizon2020 – see slides here)\, VidChain (see slides here)\nQ&A\n\n\n\nBREAK  \n\n\n\n11:15 – 11:45\nCoffee Break  – Poster presentations\nCommission setting the scene\n\n\n\nDECENTRALISED CIRCULAR ECONOMY\nModerator: Monique Calisti \n\n\n\n11:45-12:30\nPresentations by\nBlockchain my Art (BMA – see slides here)\, Common Good Chain (ComGo – see slides here)\, Kleros (CKH2020 – see slides here)\nQ&A\n\n\n\n12:30-13:45\nLUNCH BREAK\nPoster presentations\n\n\n\nFINANCIAL INCLUSION\nModerator: Gaelle Le Gars \n\n\n\n13:55-14:30\nPresentations by\nCommonsHood (see slides here)\, Did4Basics (see slides here)\, GMeRits (see slides here)\nQ&A\n\n\n\nBREAK  \n\n\n\n14:30 – 15:00\nCoffee Break  – Poster presentations\n\n\n\n\nAID & PHILANTHROPY\nModerator: Gaelle Le Gars \n\n\n\n15:00-15:45\nPresentations by\nAID:Tech\, BitDegree (BDG Scholarships – see slides here)\,\nUnblocked Cash Project (OXBBU – see slides here)\nQ&A\n\n\n\nENERGY\nModerator: Monique Calisti \n\n\n\n15:45-16:30\nPresentations by\nBED4EUC (see slides here)\, Prosume (see slides here)\, SolarCoin\nQ&A\n\n\n\nHEALTH and QUALITY CONTENT\nModerator: Marc Tavernier \n\n\n\n16:30-17:30\nPresentations by\nMeditect\, Vigicard – Content Blockchain (COBLO – see slides here)\, WordProof (see slides here)\nQ&A\n\n\n17:30-20:00\nDRINKS  & TALKS\n\n\n\n\n[vc_single_image image=”29961″ img_size=”full” onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://blockchainsforsocialgood.eventbrite.com”]

SUMMARY:FOSDEM'20
DESCRIPTION:Thousands of open source developers from all over Europe are flocking to Brussels on 1 and 2 February to share ideas and collaborate.\nFOSDEM is one of the top developer events on the planet\, gathering 8\,000+ open source community members. Although NGI-funded projects have only been operational for just one year\, several NGI-funded projects have been selected to talk at this FOSDEM 2020 edition. \nNGI is driving activities at the community-organized event and the objectives of FOSDEM are closely aligned with the NGI Initiative. Open source communities address most parts of the Internet stack with a philosophy that is fully aligned with the values supported by the Next Generation Internet: openness\, respect of privacy\, transparency\, inclusion\, cooperation and decentralisation. \nFor more info on NGI involvement at FOSDEM\, read our news article:\nNGI SUPPORTS OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY’S FOSDEM 2020 \n\nFOSDEM is a free event for software developers to meet\, share ideas and collaborate.\nEvery year\, thousands of developers of free and open source software from all over the world gather at the event in Brussels. \n \nWhat is FOSDEM?\nFOSDEM is a free and non-commercial event organised by the community for the community. The goal is to provide free and open source software developers and communities a place to meet to: \n\nget in touch with other developers and projects;\nbe informed about the latest developments in the free software world;\nbe informed about the latest developments in the open source world;\nattend interesting talks and presentations on various topics by project leaders and committers;\nto promote the development and benefits of free software and open source solutions.\n\nParticipation and attendance is totally free\, though the organisers gratefully accept donations and sponsorship. \nDeveloper rooms\nThe FOSDEM team feels it is very important for free and open source software developers around the world to be able to meet in “real life”.\nTo this end\, we have set up developer rooms (devrooms) with network/internet connectivity and projectors where teams can meet and showcase their projects. Devrooms are a place for teams to discuss\, hack and publicly present latest directions\, lightning talks\, news and discussions. We believe developers can benefit a lot from these meetings. \nA bit of history\nIn 2000\, Raphael Bauduin\, a fan of the Linux movement in Belgium\, decided to organise a small meeting for developers of Open Source software. He called it ‘Open Source Developers’ European Meeting’ (OSDEM).\nRaphael created a mailing list\, a small website and spread the word to people around him. Only a few weeks later\, lots of people were waiting for an exciting event in Brussels! Invitations were sent to well-known figures in the community: Rasterman\, Fyodor\, Jeremy Allison and so on. They all gave a very positive response\, and OSDEM was on the road to success.\nFor the second year\, OSDEM was renamed FOSDEM. And now\, many years later\, it has grown into the event it is today. We now try to cover a wide spectrum of free and open source software projects\, and offer a platform for people to collaborate. Every year\, we host more than 5000 developers at the ULB Solbosch campus.\nRaphael is no longer the driving force behind FOSDEM. After 7 years of hard work he left the team for new Open Source plans.

SUMMARY:Digital Identity Virtual Coffee Break with NGI Ambassador Alex Puig
DESCRIPTION:Do you have everything you need\, to prove that you are you?\n\n\n\n\nDigital ID is well and truly established as one of the most significant technology trends on the planet. Join the webinar and hear more!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\nWhen: Thursday\, 23rd of January 2020 at 13:00 – 13:45 (CET)\nWhere: Online – Link to be sent.\nNB: There is a limit of 150 attendees \nAgenda\n13:00 – 13:10 Introducing the speaker\n13:10 – 13:20 Introduction on Digital Identity\n13:20 – 13:40 Having a conversation with Alex – Have your questions prepared!\n13:40 – 14:45 Conclusions \nAbout the topic\nAnyone who has ever created an online profile\, anywhere\, has established a digital identity. Facebook owns our online social profile\, retailers own our shopping patterns\, credit agencies hold our creditworthiness\, Google knows what we have been curious about since the dawn of the internet and your bank owns your payment history. All of us have traces of our digital identities scattered all over the world wide web. As a result\, we are all analyzed in detail to predict our future behavior and monetize our digital identities. \nDecentralized identity is how people control when\, where and with whom they share their personal data. In the physical world\, we take this sharing for granted\, yet in the digital world\, a stable\, smart way to do this has long been lacking. A digital identity is an online or networked identity adopted or claimed in cyberspace by an individual\, organization or electronic device. These users may also project more than one digital identity through multiple communities. In terms of digital identity management\, key areas of concern are security and privacy. \nAbout the speaker\nAlex Puig is a CTO @ CaelumLabs and Co-chair on Digital Identity @ INATBA (International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications) and an ambassador of the NGI community. \nAlex is a software developer with extensive experience in Blockchain and self-sovereign identity. He has always been involved in R+D projects and the tech entrepreneur scene leading different startups and starting one of the first Blockchain congresses\, the Digital Currency Summit\, with more than 10+ editions. He believes we need to rethink the architecture of the Internet and build a new one\, with a strong self-sovereign identity\, privacy by design\, and security for all. \nPrepare some questions and join the conversation with him!

SUMMARY:Ideal-ist Proposal Check
DESCRIPTION:Ideal-ist Proposal Check Event for ICT calls in Horizon 2020\nIdeal-ist is holding a proposal check event for ICT & related calls in Horizon 2020 with a January 2020 deadline.  The event will take place on 8 January 2020 (and 7 or 9\, to accomodate additional proposals\, if needed) in Rome\, Italy (hosted by APRE)\, but proposers will be able to participate remotely\, as well. \nFull proposal check events offer proposers a chance to improve the quality of project proposals based on feedback from experienced external experts and national contact points (NCPs). The event aims to transfer useful knowledge and increase proposers’ chances for funding. \nProcedure\nOn-site attendants\nInterested proposers will provide a good first draft of their proposal for the selected ICT call topic (see the list below) and receive qualified feedback from experienced evaluators immediately during the proposal check session. The session consists of the evaluators reading the proposal and a feedback round.\nIt will be possible to receive additional consulting by experienced NCP staff. \nRemote attendants\nIdeal-ist will offer a remote evaluation for selected participants. Experienced evaluators will sit in Brussels and meet with proposers via Skype. The remote nature will require that proposals are sent electronically. \nAll participating experts will sign a confidentiality declaration. There are a limited number of slots for this event\, so early applications are encouraged! \nSelection of participants\nProposers who apply to participate at the event go through a case-by-case selection process. After their expression of interest via an online form\, they will be contacted in the following days to assess the degree of completion of their proposals. Short-listed candidates will be invited based on the available places and the submission of a final draft of their proposal. \n\nThe deadline for expression of interest is 18 December 2019.\nThe deadline for sending the final draft that will be reviewed will be 3 January 2020.\n\nWho can attend?\nThe event will support proposals for ICT calls under H2020\, with a deadline in January 2020. Admission to the event is for the coordinator (i.e. one person\, mandatory) plus one representative from a project partner institution (i.e. one optional person). In exceptional cases\, the coordinator may name a proxy to attend. \nThe evaluators on-site do not check the eligibility of the proposers to submit a proposal for the topic. Therefore it is strongly recommended that the proposers have an abstract of their proposal checked by their National Contact Points (NCP). \nThe event is free of charge\, however\, slots are limited. Ideal-ist does not refund travel expenses for the proposers. \nFor more information\, please check on the organizer website at: https://www.ideal-ist.eu/event/ideal-ist-proposal-check-event-ict-calls-horizon-2020-january

SUMMARY:Chaos Communication Congress 2019
DESCRIPTION:36th Chaos Communication Congress\nThe Chaos Communication Congress is an annual conference organized by the Chaos Computer Club. The congress features a variety of lectures and workshops on technical and political issues related to security\, cryptography\, privacy and online freedom of speech. The event takes place regularly at the end of the year since 1984\, with the current date and duration (27–30 December) established in 2005. It is considered one of the largest events of this kind\, alongside the DEF CON in Las Vegas. \nFor the 36th time the Chaos Computer Club (CCC) will host the Chaos Communication Congress between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. The 36C3\, which will take place at Messe Leipzig\, is the largest hacker conference in Europe and – like all CCC events – will be organised and executed entirely by volunteers. As last year\, around 17\,000 participants are expected from 27th to 30th of December 2019\, including more than 2\,000 volunteers. \n\n36C3: Resource exhaustion\nResource exhaustion is a type of attack on computer systems that is considered rather crude and destructive. Even with two large scale events this year we don’t want to execute such an attack against ourselves. Instead we want to use our own resources in a measured\, effective way: \nThose who do know the extend of their own resources\, can set limits\, to prevent their exhaustion. \nOn an international stage this wisdom appears to be absent. Resources are exhausted knowingly and willfully\, instead of limiting their use. Two years ago\, during 34C3\, we dedicated a day of our schedule to the topic of global climate change\, and in the year following that we joined forces with other civil rights and environment protection NGOs for the Bits & Bäume conference. \nIt is in this tradition and with this spirit that we see this year’s congress’s motto 36C3: Resource Exhaustion. \nMore info here: https://events.ccc.de/congress/2019/

SUMMARY:IGF 2019
DESCRIPTION:14th Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum\nThe Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was set up as an open discussion platform of the United Nations for key legal\, political\, social and technical issues relating to the internet. \nThe IGF is designed according to the “multi-stakeholder” model\, meaning that all the relevant societal groups are equally involved in preparations and implementation: from governments\, civil society\, business\, academia\, international organisations and the technical community. This is particularly of note in terms of representatives from developing and newly industrialising countries\, who otherwise tend to be under-represented. \n \nThe forum was established in 2006 by the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN). The IGF does not make binding decisions\, but only serves in an advisory capacity. The annual meetings are held for the purposes of discussion\, information and inspiration\, with the primary objective of facilitating equitable and constructive dialogue between the various representatives\, and to play a role in shaping debate within the relevant decision-making bodies at a national and international level. \nGlobal trends relating to internet politics\, current draft legislation and established practices are regularly discussed at these meetings. Delegates address topics including future opportunities and challenges presented by the internet\, as well as analysing ways of making full use of the internet’s potential. \nHaving previously been convened in Geneva and Paris\, the 14th Annual Meeting will be held on 25-29 November 2019 at the Estrel Congress Centre in Berlin. \nFor more info\, follow the IGF 2019 on twitter. \n\nThe European Commission is a strong supporter of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF)\, and will be organising several initiatives during the event: \n\nAn interactive Open Forum on the ‘Future Internet Governance Strategy for the European Union’ on Wednesday 27 November\nA booth with information on the Next-Generation Internet.\n\nMore info here: https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en/news/internet-governance-forum-2019

SUMMARY:Open Source beyond 2020 - Powering a Digital Europe
DESCRIPTION:Workshop about the future of Open Source Software and Open Source Hardware\nOpen Source has become mainstream across all sectors of the software industry during the past 10 years. To a large extent\, open software re-use has proven economically efficient. The level of maturity of Open Source Hardware (OSH) remains far lower than that of Open Source Software (OSS). However\, business ecosystems for OSH are developing fast so that OSH could constitute a cornerstone of the future Internet of Things (IoT) and the future of computing. \n\nWorkshop “Open Source beyond 2020 – Powering a Digital Europe”\nThere are questions that are pertinent to be asked with regard to the future of OSS and OSH: Is the dramatic expansion of Open Source Software going to continue? Where is the limit? Will Open Source Hardware follow the path of its sibling? \nIn November 2019\, the European Commission will be organising a workshop to analyse the future of Open Source Software and hardware. The workshop will bring stakeholders together to discuss current challenges\, opportunities\, R&I and also economic and policy-making issues. \nMore specifically\, the workshop will focus on: \n\nThe role of Open Source as innovation enabler\nHow Open source can contribute towards the technological independence of Europe\nOpen source in the industry and the public sector\n\nBackground info\nThe Top-500 HPC in the world use Operating Systems based on Linux and scientific applications running on them are overwhelmingly using Open Source (e.g. OpenFOAM\, OpenQCD\, GAMESS\, NWChem\, Octave\, …). OSS is also dominant in software infrastructures and constitutes the basis of very successful commercial systems (e.g. Android). Open Source is powering 86\,1% of the smartphones\, 67% of public servers\, 75% of embedded systems. Other relevant policy areas are also seeing an increase in the use of Open Source: Artificial Intelligence (e.g. Google’s Tensorflow for Machine learning)\, Cloud (e.g. OpenStack based solutions)\, cyber security (e.g. MISP). There are also B2B Open Source platforms: Siemens’ MindSphere\, which uses Open Source\, offers a managed Platform-as-a-Service for developing cross-platform applications and lowering development efforts for the IoT domain and Bosch has just adopted an open source strategy to transform IoT. \nTo give an example for a business ecosystem for OSH\, there is e.g. the Reprap 3D printer which constitutes an ecosystem on its own of global dimension. OSH shares with OSS its modularity and self-assembly feature. If OSH is to follow the same development as OSS\, it can be expected that the demand for OSH develops rapidly in the next decade.
